Brazil, postal workers stage strike demanding higher wages

Workers of the Brazilian Post and Telegraph (ECT) in 16 states and the Federal District today began a work stoppage indefinitely to demand better pay and replacement of losses.

In statement on the strike, the negotiation command of the National Federation of Workers of ECT claims a 43.7 per cent increase in salaries, 200 reais, about $ 100, and a linear increase basic salary of two thousand 500 reais, about $ 250 billion.

In addition, these employees unions Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Tocantins and Bauru 5.2 percent require replacement for loss, five percent real growth and real linear 100 adjustment, about $ 50. Read Article
