Brazil: National Council of Justice Passes Resolution for Same Sex Marriage

On Tuesday May 14, 2013, Terra reported the National Council of Justice adopted a resolution to legalize same sex marriage in Brazil although the decision can still be challenged in the Supreme Court. The resolution passed 14 to 1. The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Joaquim Barbosa, stated this decision was an attempt to “harmonize” laws since May 2011 that recognized homosexual couples as “union stable” gay.Read Article
