Brazil investigating Chevron for oil spill

The Brazilian Federal Police opened an investigation against the U.S. oil company Chevron, responsible for an oil spill in the Atlantic off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The company, meanwhile, said it began sealing a crack in the offshore well in the Frade field. “There are facts inconsistent. Employees of the platform informed us that there is no date for the end of the spill. And the crack in the ocean floor is between 280 and 300 meters long,” said Fabio Scliar Commissioner of Police Station Environment of the Federal Police. Read Article
