Brazil: Increase in Tourists Visiting Country Rises by 5.5%

ebc.com.br reported on September 13, 2013 that based on information from the Federal Police, the number of tourists visiting Brazil increased by 5.5% in August of this year. This year, 346,000 foreigners visited Brazil. Airports of Brasilia , the Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo reported to have the highest rates of entry for foreigners. In the month of August, Mexico and Colombia had the highest number of tourists visiting Brazil, although traditionally, the high number of tourists are from Argentina and the U.S. Data may not be completely accurate as many foreign tourists enter the country overland.
