Brazil: Arrest warrant issued for CFO of Google Brazil for ignoring court orders to remove video from YouTube

Elcomercio.pe reported that the election judge Campina Grande, in the Brazilian state of Paraiba, has issued an arrest warrant against the CFO of Google Brazil , Luiz Edmundo Pinto Balthazar, for ignoring two court orders requiring him to remove a video from YouTube. The video in question is one in which Romero Rodrigues, a candidate for mayor, made a mistake in giving the meaning of an acronym. The video in which Rodrigues called “Performance Index” to “Index of Basic Education Development”, had a short statement and immediately cut to a scene of “Chavo” saying “what donkey, put zero.” According to the news article, Google issued a statement that voters have a right to express their views on candidates ….. as an exercise in democracy….
