Brazil: Argentinian doctors will be paid double in “More Doctors” program

midianews.com.br reported on September 6, 2013 that Argentinian doctors who will participate in the “More Doctors” program in Brazil will be paid twice the salary in Brazil compared to their home country. The doctors will receive a R$10,000 grant per month for 40 hours a week although reports show the doctors may need to work 70 hours. Argentinian doctors comprise the second largest group of participants in the program. There is concern along the border that many Argentinian doctors will leave the country to work in Brazil., ignoring the poor areas that need medical attention as well. Read Article
