Bolivia: Hairdresser Charged With Human Trafficking and Pimping

On July 4, 2013 Correo del Sur Noticias reported the arrest of a hairdresser on charges of human trafficking and pimping. During a raid on the salon, police found condoms and women’s undergarments, which suggests that it functioned as a center for recruiting women for illicit activities. The hairdresser was also known to publish newspaper advertisements offering escort services.

The investigation began following the reported disappearance of a teenage girl from her home.
Initial investigations reveal that among the items found in the salon, some belonged to the missing teenager. Read Article
