Bolivia Fighting Child Exploitation Through National Network, Changes to Code for Children

On June 28, 2013 La Razón reported in Bolivia the recent formation of the National Child and Adolescent Sexual Violence Network, comprising 24 institutions and organizations that will coordinate actions in preventing and eradicating sexual violence against children and adolescents. The formation of this network coincides with the spread of a proposed amendment to the Code for Children and Adolescents, including the prohibition of child beauty pageants, as these activities are alleged to exacerbate the eroticism and objectification of children.
