Customs agents at the Central Mail post-office in Buenos Aires uncovered archaeological remains of skulls and mummies wrapped in blankets and Inca fabrics, according to sdpnoticias.com. The package was shipped from La Paz, Bolivia to an Argentine citizen living in Buenos Aires who was arrested for smuggling. The Federal Public Revenue Administration said the remains appear to belong to the ancient Paracas culture of the southern coast of Peru. One of the skulls shows evidence of trepanation. The remains have been sent for further study to the Latin American National Institute of Archaeology and Thought.
