Argentina: President ratifies three weekly flights to Malvinas (Falkland Islands) despite British opposition

President Cristina Fernandez said today that Argentina’s sovereignty claim over the Malvinas Islands is a “global and regional cause” and ratified the decision to send three weekly flights to the archipelago despite British opposition.
“We’ve come a long way because it seemed a cause circumscribed to jingoistic claims and had to defend a cause that is for the territorial integrity and unconditional defense of natural resources,” he said during a ceremony at Government House. Read Article
