Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay: Anti-terrorism agents investigate Arabs in tri-border area

Officials are investigating a group of suspicious Arabs in the tri-border area of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay, ABC Color reports. Investigations began last year, when security agents began to suspect the Arabs of piracy, drug trafficking, and weapons trafficking. The proceeds of their activity were then transferred to banks in the Middle East. Argentine intelligence agents have seized photos taken of Arabs in the tri-border area engaging in what appears to be paramilitary training. Officials believe the group may be preparing to engage in an armed attack. Anti-terrorism police have become involved in the investigation. No arrests have been reported. Read Article
