Argentina: Authorities Release 30 Colombian Prisoners Accused of Human Trafficking

On July 12, 2013 Día a Día Noticias reported that a group of 30 Colombians who had been arrested for trafficking were released this past Friday morning. The freed suspects have been linked to trafficking fellow compatriots to work in furniture sales jobs. They were arrested on June 13 following a major police operation in several provinces, including Córdoba.

The decision to free the suspects on bail was made by Judge Ricardo Bustos Fierro, who took into account the history of the Federal Appeals Court in similar cases. The judge also determined that the suspects did not pose a flight risk. Meanwhile, the case remains under investigation. Read Article
