6.2 earthquake off coast of Chile

An earthquake of 6.3 richter according to the Seismological Service of the University of Chile was recorded at 22:09 hours in the Aysen region.

The epicenter was located 564 kilometers west of Melinka, 10 kiómetros deep.

The Geological Survey (USGS) estimated at 6.2 intensity quake.

“This has not been perceived or Coyhaique and Puerto Aysen and in the population is calm,” said the Intendant TVN Pilar Cuevas.

The Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA) reported that the quake is not eligible to generate tsunami on the coasts of our country. Read Article
