30 barrios in Quito at extreme risk in event of serious earthquake

The authorities estimate that between 25 and 30 thousand people would be affected in the event of a natural disaster in the capital of the Republic, since that is the number of people who have their homes in vulnerable areas.
The figures are of the forum on Quito’s vulnerability to disasters, made in 2010, but the earthquake of 4 degrees on the Richter scale recorded on Saturday showed the danger faced by certain constructions. Read Article
