3 Types of Paseo Millonario Thefts

Paseo millonario is a crime that involves theft of a taxi passenger by the driver and accomplices in different ways depending on the type of paseo millonario. The classic paseo millonario involves accomplices of a driver entering the vehicle en route to a destination. The accomplices then violently force the passenger to take money from an ATM and hand it over to the driver and his accomplices before being left in a remote area.

This type of crime is particular to Colombia, but also occurs throughout Latin America.

A passenger calls for a taxi, and the perpetrators then check the taxi companies that most frequent the area. A driver planning to perform the paseo millonario then arrives, and a classic paseo millonario commences.

The classic paseo millonario involves accomplices of a driver entering the vehicle en route to a destination. The accomplices then violently force the passenger to take money from an ATM and hand it over to the driver and his accomplices before being left in a remote area.

After a passenger boards a taxi, accomplices of the driver later board the vehicle and then hold the passenger hostage demanding a certain amount of money.
