280 Kilos of Cocaine Seized in Lima, Peru

On May 16, 2013, Peru 21 reported that on May 15 the Peruvian National Police seized 280 kilos of cocaine in the San Valentin neighborhood of San Martin de Porres. Early reports from the Ministry of the Interior claimed that 700 kilos were seized, but it was confirmed just hours later that less than 300 kilos were seized. Marrufo Casanova Chávez, Víctor Cano Aclari, and Mario Segama Paquiyauri were arrested. Aclari and Paquiyauri were the drivers will be charged with drug trafficking. The destination of the drugs was the city of Puno, from where they would go on to Bolivia. Read Article
