2700 cubans headed to U.S. through Mexico from Costa Rica since January 2016

EFE/nacion.com reported two more groups of Cubans arrived on Friday to Mexico from Costa Rica, bringing the number of migrants who have used this route since January, to reach the United States now exceeds 2,700 people.

In Costa Rica, they would be about 2,200 of the nearly 8,000 that accumulated at the end of last year, after Nicaragua shut the border.

The National Migration Institute of Mexico explained that a group of 125 people arrived on Friday air, to the border city of Nuevo Laredo, in the northern state of Tamaulipas.

A second group, consisting of 187 Cubans entered overland to Ciudad Hidalgo, in the southern state of Chiapas, bordering Guatemala. Read Article
