27 High-Risk Flood Zones Identified in Mexico City

El Universal reports:
• The Mexico City Water System (SACM) has identified the 100 neighborhoods in Mexico City with the highest flood risks
• 27 have water-handling issues that can make minor flooding into a serious issue
• Recent storms have proven that the drainage infrastructure in these 27 districts is insufficient to handle any significant downpour
• Works are in progress to reduce the impact of heavy rains, but they are not sufficient to face the heavy rains which are most likely to occur in the zones identified
