254 wildfires registered across Ecuador

According to a report of the National Secretariat for Risk Management, from 7 to 22 September have been recorded in the country 254 wildfires that have affected so far to 1811.32 hectares. Among the provinces where there have been these facts are Pichincha, Imbabura, Loja, Manabi and El Oro and Cotopaxi. In Azuay during last Sunday, there were 83 fires, 60 of which were of great magnitude, as reported by the director of the ECU-911, Fernando Figueroa.
“There is still no report of damage, fires and multiply affected areas vary from time to time,” the official explained yesterday while in the southern fell a heavy rain that helped somewhat off the tongues of fire.

Loja – Fires in Chuquiribamba sector – controlled as of Sunday. Other fires reported in Manu sector.

Imbabura – Three fires under control and extinguished in Otavalo.

El Oro – 400 hundred acres consumed but under control.
