Drug mule recruiter arrested in Paraguay; sent mules to Spain with cocaine

Marcela Gabina Franco Bogado (43), was arrested outside her home in the Santa Ana district of Asuncion, Paraguay. She is accused of recruiting youths to traffick drugs, particularly cocaine, to Europe in their stomachs and genitals, according to a Color ABC report. A mule captured in the capital’s airport in September 2011 with capsules of cocaine confessed the identity of the recruiter, leading to the arrest. According to the mule, the traffickers would be responsible for carrying 5-10 kilos of cocaine to Spain in return for $1,000 per trip. 61 capsules of cocaine were discovered in the suspect’s house during the first raid.
