19 arrested in international drug-trafficking ring, Nicaragua

At least 19 people have been arrested and six more are on the loose after National Police in Nicaragua broke up an international drug-trafficking ring. The arrests occurred after an investigation into the 140 packets of cocaine found on June 19, 2012 in San Carlos, Río San Juan, which were hidden inside seven barrels. According to El Nuevo Diario, these drugs were the payment received by César Felipe, Santos Vladimir, and Cirila Consuelo Aragón for facilitating drug movements in Nicaragua.The Puerto Limón route was used, which passes through Costa Rica and Nicaragua into Honduras. The ring was led by Ted Floyd Forbest Hayman, who organized the transport of drugs from Panama. Raids occurred in various cities throughout the country, which led to the arrests.
