Mexico’s IMSS urges precautions due to hot weather, rains to combat spread of malaria

Specialists of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) are calling on the population in this hot weather and rains take precautions to prevent the spread of malaria infection that may jeopardize the lives of the sick person.

According to a press release, malaria, epidemiologist Joel Navarrete said Espinosa, Medical Programs Coordinator of the Coordination of Epidemiological Surveillance of Social Security, is a condition caused by a parasite called Plasmodium, which is transmitted through the bite infected female Anopheles mosquito.
