Argentina, Fugitive arrested through Facebook scam

Police arrested a fugitive from justice for conspiracy last week by using a fake Facebook profile, according to losandes.com.ar. The 4-month-long investigation to capture the fugitive headed by the Departmental Research Direction of Pergamino, Buenos Aires, involved creating a fake Facebook profile of a young woman claiming to be a fitness trainer and a student at the University of Buenos Aires. After finding the fugitive, who had evaded arrest for a year, on Facebook, police created the false account and thus began a series of messages between the 2 accounts. Police arranged a fake meeting with the man at a hotel on Route 8 in Pergamino where he was arrested upon arrival. A young man who had driven the fugitive to the hotel was also arrested and the car along with several emergency phones were confiscated.
