Ecuador: La bahía market in Guayaquil listed by U.S. trade group as a major hub for pirated goods

Eluniverso.com reported that the U.S. Trade Office (USTR for its acronym in English) denounced the abundant marketing of counterfeit clothing, DVDs, CDs and computer programs on the market the Bay of Guayaquil, in Ecuador. The USTR included Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Paraguay among the 11 countries where they operate markets in piracy and smuggling affecting the U.S. economy. In its report on the main violations on the planet to intellectual property, the U.S. Trade Office (USTR for its acronym in English) to the Paraguayan Ciudad del Este highlighted because the distribution of pirate products in this border town “has not improved during the last year or the last decade”.
